Goodbye

I want to know what you are thinking.

Your thoughts are friends to my own.

You’re a parable for my heart and a quiet dream in my mind.

Your charm allows room for discussion and it’s admirable even with your faults.

You hold your emotions behind your eyes, so do not demonize me for falling.

Your control is commendable, but your lack thereof is heartbreaking.

I believe a bit of narcissism is healthy, but when you share your image on the lips of every woman you have had it’s too much to taste.

You’re stoic, but callous to my own pain.

Maybe I wanted to kiss you one last time to solidify my goodbye.

My heart has been restless, and it’s foolish to admit the truth.

I was not your favorite indiscretion, but you will always be mine.

Nothing good comes after 2 am.

I fell for you around that time.
